Early life[]
Johanson was born in Port Washington, Wisconsin to parents Anthony Johanson and Cristine Lundvik. He is of Swedish, Norwegian, and German descent, and was raised a Lutheran. Both of his parents are former professional volleyball players, and now work as volleyball coaches in addition to managing a number of gyms in the Milwaukee metropolitan area. Johanson has two elder sisters, Kristina and Kaitlyn.
Johanson attended Port Washington High School, where he played varsity volleyball. He began modeling professionally as a teenager, although only worked part-time. After graduating from high school, he moved to Chicago to model full-time. Johanson later moved to Los Angeles two years later, where he continued his modeling career.
